When will Cape Cod see a Jeep Wrangler pickup truck? Possibly soon

The idea of a Jeep Wrangler 4x4 as a pickup truck isn't exactly new; with kits like the Scrambler, the Brute, and the JK-8 available throughout the last few years, it's always been possible to get a truckin' good version of one of the world's most recognizable sport utility vehices.

But not exactly easy; the average pickup truck conversion kit would run you in the range of $6,000 - $10,000. Add that onto a nearly $30,000 sticker price for the standard model itself, and you find yourself shelling out quite a bit of dough.

But the Jeep brand has found a solution--and soon, with a new pickup truck model destined to share a platform with the iconic Wrangler, and to go into production by 2017, drivers in Hyannis, Plymouth, Falmouth, Barnstable, and Yarmouth will be able to buy a Wrangler with a bed right out of the box. And while we haven't seen any definitive images just yet, much less specs, release date, cost, or performance expectations, we're still unbelievably excited for this new development.

With a variety of Jeep concept vehicles being introduced at the 2016 Moab Easter Jeep Safari at the end of this month--and surely a few surprises in store for the upcoming New York International Auto Show--we're crossing our fingers to at least see a prototype of the new pickup truck design in the metal.
