Key Numbers: 2027 Jeep Wrangler Trims

  • Core trims: Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Rubicon, Rubicon X, Willys 392 and Moab 392
  • Starting MSRP runs from $38,630 for the 2-door Sport to $81,990 for the Moab 392, including the $1,995 destination charge
  • Engines: 2.0L turbo across all trims, 3.6L V6 on six trims, 6.4L HEMI V8 on the Willys 392 and Moab 392
  • Max towing: 5,000 lbs properly equipped on the 4-door Willys, Rubicon and Rubicon X
  • 2027 limited editions: Laredo, Smoky Mountain, Sarge and JL-2A

The 2027 Jeep Wrangler lineup holds eight core trims and four limited editions, with prices from $38,630 to $81,990 including the $1,995 destination charge. That spread is the whole decision: two bodies, three engines and a ladder that runs from a bare-bones, doors-off Sport to a 470-horsepower V8. A season of beach permits and a year of commuting turn the choice into two questions at once, the trail hardware you want on the weekends that end in sand and the comfort you want on every other morning.

Premier Cape Cod stocks Wranglers from the Sport through the 392 trims and sells them to drivers from Falmouth, Plymouth and Dartmouth. Below you will find every trim, a side-by-side matrix, the most common head-to-head comparisons, a step-up price guide and a trim picker. For the engine and dimension numbers behind these trims, see the 2027 Wrangler specs, or return to the 2027 Wrangler research hub.

What Every 2027 Wrangler Includes

Every Wrangler, from the Sport up, comes with four-wheel drive, a Trail Rated badge, traction control and electronic stability control, removable doors and a fold-down windshield. Fog lights, power windows, push-button start, remote keyless entry and a smartphone interface are standard on every configuration, and the 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen is part of the 2027 lineup. The trims below build on that base.

2027 Wrangler Trim-by-Trim Breakdown

Sport

The Sport is where the Wrangler formula starts: removable doors, a fold-down windshield and four-wheel drive, with the 3.6L V6 and a 6-speed manual transmission. Starting prices are $38,630 for the 2-door and $41,635 for the 4-door. Jeep also offers the 2.0L turbo on every trim. Four-wheel drive comes standard through Command-Trac, a part-time system with a 2.72:1 low range.

Standard equipment includes push-button start, fog lights and a smartphone interface, and alloy wheels are available. Heated mirrors, proximity keyless entry and alloy wheels arrive with the Sport S package. The Sport suits the buyer who plans to personalize a Wrangler over time.

Sport S

Sport S starts at $41,780 for the 2-door and $44,035 for the 4-door, and it is where the everyday equipment arrives. Alloy wheels, heated mirrors and proximity keyless entry are standard, and a heated steering wheel and remote start are available. Engines are the same V6 and turbo choices, with Command-Trac 4x4 underneath. For most commuters on Route 132, this is the sweet spot of the ladder.

Willys

Willys starts at $45,850 for the 2-door and $48,230 for the 4-door, and it keeps the Sport S equipment list in the features Jeep publishes while pointing the money at the trail. The 4-door Willys, properly equipped, tows up to 5,000 lbs, the same figure Jeep gives the Rubicon and Rubicon X. The Willys name is also the base for the Laredo and the Smoky Mountain limited editions, and the Willys 392 builds on it with a V8.

Rubicon

Rubicon starts at $48,705 for the 2-door and $53,130 for the 4-door. It is the trim with the Rock-Trac 4x4 system and its 4:1 low range, Tru-Lok electronic locking differentials, rock protection and push-button articulation. A heated steering wheel and navigation are standard, and blind spot monitoring, premium audio, an integrated off-road camera, remote start and Nappa leather seating are available. The 4-door Rubicon, properly equipped, tows up to 5,000 lbs. When a beach permit, a soft shoulder and a long drive home all land on the same weekend, this is the Wrangler Jeep built for it.

Sahara

Sahara starts at $53,405 as a 4-door. It brings navigation, McKinley-trimmed seating, a power driver's seat, premium audio, blind spot monitoring, heated mirrors, a heated steering wheel, remote start and an integrated off-road camera as standard equipment. It is the Wrangler for the buyer who spends five days a week on pavement and the sixth with the top off, and it pairs with the 2.0L turbo or the 3.6L V6.

Rubicon X

Rubicon X starts at $58,555 as a 2-door and $63,225 as a 4-door. It layers Sahara-level equipment over the Rubicon hardware: navigation, Nappa leather seating, a power driver's seat, premium audio, blind spot monitoring, a heated steering wheel, remote start and an integrated off-road camera are standard, along with the Rock-Trac 4x4 system. The 4-door, properly equipped, tows up to 5,000 lbs.

Willys 392

Willys 392 starts at $71,990 as a 4-door with the 6.4L HEMI V8, 470 horsepower, 470 lb-ft of torque and an 8-speed automatic. Jeep quotes 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds. Rock rails, beadlock-capable wheels, a winch-capable steel front bumper and 35-inch tires give it 11.1 inches of ground clearance. Properly equipped, it tows up to 3,500 lbs, and it requires 91-octane premium. Navigation, Nappa leather seating, a power driver's seat, premium audio, blind spot monitoring and an integrated off-road camera are standard.

Moab 392

Moab 392 starts at $81,990 as a 4-door, with the same V8 and 8-speed automatic as the Willys 392. It adds machined-face black beadlock wheels, black Nappa leather-trimmed seats, a Moab swing gate plaque and a Moab shifter medallion. Properly equipped, it tows up to 3,500 lbs.

The 2027 Limited Editions

Jeep releases one limited-edition Wrangler each month, in limited quantities, and four carry the 2027 model year: the Laredo, Smoky Mountain, Sarge and JL-2A. The Laredo comes back to the lineup with a Willys-based exterior, a Sahara-based interior, a tan canvas soft top or available black hardtop, 17-inch beadlock wheels with bronze center caps and bronze tow hooks, in 2-door or 4-door. The JL-2A celebrates the original Willys CJ-2A in 2-door or 4-door, with 17-inch retro wheels wrapped in 33-inch all-terrain tires and a Bison Brown interior with Heritage Tan Nappa leather-trimmed seats. Common Wrangler Trim Comparisons

Sport S vs Willys

The 4-door Sport S starts at $44,035 and the 4-door Willys at $48,230, a difference of $4,195. The equipment grid is nearly identical, so the extra money goes to the Willys's trail focus and its 5,000-lb tow rating when properly equipped, against 3,500 lbs on the Sport S.

Willys vs Rubicon

The 4-door Rubicon costs $4,900 more than the 4-door Willys and adds the Rock-Trac 4x4 system with 4:1 low range, locking differentials and rock protection, plus a standard heated steering wheel and navigation. Both tow up to 5,000 lbs properly equipped.

Rubicon vs Rubicon X

Rubicon X sits $10,095 above the 4-door Rubicon and brings Sahara-level equipment to the same hardware: standard blind spot monitoring, Nappa leather seating, a power driver's seat, premium audio, remote start and an integrated off-road camera.

Sahara vs Rubicon

A 4-door Sahara costs $275 more than a 4-door Rubicon, so this is a decision about intent, not budget. Sahara standardizes the comfort and technology list, and Rubicon standardizes the Rock-Trac system and 5,000-lb tow rating when properly equipped.

Willys 392 vs Moab 392

The Moab 392 starts $10,000 above the Willys 392 and shares its V8, 8-speed automatic and 3,500-lb tow rating when properly equipped. The Moab adds machined-face black beadlock wheels, black Nappa leather-trimmed seats and its own badging.

2-Door vs 4-Door

The 2-door has a 96.8-inch wheelbase and seats four, with 12.9 cubic feet behind the rear seat and a 2,000-lb tow rating when properly equipped. The 4-door has a 118.4-inch wheelbase, seats five, holds 31.7 cubic feet behind the rear seats and carries the 5,000-lb rating on Willys, Rubicon and Rubicon X. Jeep rates the 4-door's available approach angle at up to 47.4 degrees and the 2-door's available breakover angle at up to 32.4 degrees.

Which Wrangler Trim Is Right for You?

The 4-door Sport S or Sahara fits that week. The Sport S gives you heated mirrors and the option list at $44,035, and the Sahara standardizes navigation, McKinley-trimmed seating and blind spot monitoring from $53,405.
