The Model
The Compass is Jeep's compact SUV, six trims deep for 2026, from the $29,550 Latitude to the $35,555 Limited Altitude before the $1,995 destination charge. Every one of them carries a 2.0-liter turbocharged four rated at 200 horsepower and 221 lb-ft, an eight-speed automatic, and four-wheel drive as standard equipment rather than as an option. Five trims use Jeep Active Drive; the Trailhawk uses Active Drive Low, with a 20:1 crawl ratio and the lineup's only trailer rating. On a peninsula where the side streets off Route 6 are the last thing plowed and the run over the Cape Cod Canal by way of the Sagamore Bridge is a year-round commute, that standard drivetrain is the whole argument for this nameplate.
Buyers reach us from across the region — Barnstable and the Mid-Cape towns, Falmouth on the far side of Route 28, and off-Cape from Plymouth and Marion. The Compass suits that spread because four-wheel drive is not a trim decision here: a Barnstable side street in February and a Plymouth commute on Route 3 ask for the same hardware, and a Falmouth or Marion driver gets it without moving up the range.
For 2026 the base Sport trim was dropped, two Altitude appearance trims joined the range, and an 85th Anniversary Edition arrived with a panoramic sunroof, Alpine nine-speaker audio and dual-zone climate. Joose and Fathom Blue joined the paint palette. The Trailhawk gains half an inch of ground clearance over the rest of the lineup at 8.6 inches, three more inches of water fording at 19, four skid plates and Falken WildPeak all-terrain tires. Cargo room is 27.2 cubic feet behind the second row on every trim, or 59.8 with the row folded.
