The 2026 Jeep Recon arrives in one configuration, the Moab, at an MSRP of $66,995 including destination, carrying 650 horsepower, 620 lb-ft of torque and an EPA-rated 222 miles of range. It is the first fully electric vehicle Jeep has put a Trail Rated badge on, and it does the things that badge implies with removable doors, removable rear-quarter glass, a standard rear electronic locking differential and 33-inch all-terrain tires. It will also run to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds in Sport mode, which is a number no Jeep sold at this price has ever produced.
A sandbar with a hard edge at both ends is the one geography where the real question is not how far a vehicle can go but how far it ever has to, and a household that has been talking itself out of an electric vehicle for three years has usually never done that arithmetic against the roads it actually drives. The Recon uses two electric drive modules, one on each axle, rated at 250 kW apiece. Combined output is 650 horsepower and 620 lb-ft, delivered through a single-speed transfer case and full-time active four-wheel drive. There is no engine, no gearbox to shift and no idle. Torque is at the wheels the instant the pedal moves, which is the characteristic that changes both how the vehicle drives on the Mid-Cape commercial corridor and how it behaves on soft ground.
Energy comes from a 400-volt, 100.5-kWh lithium-ion nickel manganese cobalt pack, sealed and waterproof, mounted under the floor. That placement is why the Recon runs 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds in Sport mode and 3.8 seconds in Auto, and it is also why the vehicle weighs 6,112 pounds at the curb. Top speed is 112 mph. Drive is split front to rear by Selec-Terrain, with Auto, Sport, Snow, Sand and Rock settings that change the torque distribution rather than a gear.
The EPA rates the Recon at 222 miles combined, and the number worth reading twice is the split behind it: 250 miles in city driving against 196 on the highway (fueleconomy.gov). That is the reverse of the intuition every shopper arrives with, and it is the single most useful fact about owning one here. The months spent inching toward a canal bridge are the ones that drain a tank quickest and carry this drivetrain furthest, because every brake application returns charge instead of shedding heat. Jeep's own launch estimate runs to 230 miles; the EPA figure is the one to plan a February round trip to Plymouth and back against. Efficiency is rated at 80 city, 62 highway and 71 combined MPGe.
On a 240-volt home charger the pack goes from 5 to 80 percent in about 6.8 hours, which is an overnight. On public DC fast charging it covers that same window in roughly 28 minutes and adds about 100 miles of range in 10. There is one trim, and that makes this the shortest configuration decision in the Jeep lineup.
MSRP is $66,995 including destination. Standard equipment covers the hardware most brands charge for: the rear electronic locking differential, Selec-Terrain, 18-by-8.5-inch wheels on 265/70R18 Nexen Roadian ATX all-terrains, a full-size spare mounted on the swing gate, a dual-pane sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, an 11-speaker Alpine premium audio system and a 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen. Two packages and one roof are the whole option sheet: the Trailer Tow Group at an MSRP of $995, the Comfort Package at $1,995 MSRP, and the available Sky One-Touch Power Top. Both packages together add $2,990 to MSRP, putting a well-equipped Recon at $69,985 including destination, before the roof. Jeep has announced a second, longer-range trim; it is not named, priced or specified yet, and nothing on this page describes it.

The centerpiece is a 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 navigation touchscreen, the largest touchscreen area Jeep has fitted to any vehicle, paired with a 12.3-inch digital cluster display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto both connect wirelessly. Audio is the 11-speaker Alpine premium system as standard rather than as an upgrade, which on a vehicle with no engine noise to cover is a more noticeable inclusion than it sounds. Five seats, in Black or Joshua Tree. Front head room is 42.3 inches and front leg room 41.4; the second row gets 40.6 inches of head room and 38.5 of leg room, with 57.6 inches of shoulder room across. Counting the cabin and the load floor together, the Recon encloses 141.5 cubic feet. Climate control is dual-zone and automatic on every Recon, which settles the front-seat temperature argument before it starts. Ventilated front seats are available rather than standard.
The open-air hardware is the part that separates this from every other electric SUV on the market: the doors come off, the rear-quarter glass comes out, and so does the swing gate glass. Glass overhead comes as standard in the form of a dual-pane sunroof, and the Sky One-Touch Power Top is the available step beyond it, offered on no other fully electric utility vehicle.
Maximum trailer weight is 3,300 pounds properly equipped, which needs the Trailer Tow Group, an MSRP option at $995. That covers a pair of personal watercraft on a double trailer, a small aluminum skiff, or a loaded 5-by-8 utility trailer, and it stops short of most cuddy cabins. Maximum payload is 850 pounds, a figure that reads low precisely because the battery already accounts for so much of the 6,112-pound curb weight.
Behind the second row there are 30.3 cubic feet, and 65.9 with the row folded. There is also a 3.0-cubic-foot front trunk, which is the single most practical thing on the vehicle for anyone who launches a boat or runs a permitted sand beach: it is a sealed, washable place for the charge cable, the tow straps and the tire deflators, and none of it rides in the cabin. Ground clearance is 9.1 inches. Approach is 33.8 degrees, departure 33.1, breakover 23.3. The rear axle carries an electronic locking differential as standard equipment at a 15:1 final drive, the front runs 11:1, and suspension is a short-long arm independent front with an integral link rear on a STLA-Large unibody.
One thing to be straight about, because it changes what this vehicle is good at: the Recon has a single-speed transfer case and no low range. Low-speed control comes from motor torque, the Selec-Terrain Rock setting and Selec-Speed Control instead of from gearing. On soft sand that trade is in the Recon's favor, because instant torque at a deflated tire pressure is exactly what floats a vehicle across a rutted beach track. On slow technical rock it is the Wrangler that has the hardware. Oversand driving at Sandy Neck and on the Cape Cod National Seashore beaches is permit-only and seasonally closed for shorebird nesting, so a sticker and a tire gauge come before any of this matters. Every Recon leaves the factory with more than 170 safety and security features fitted as standard. Every one of Rough Road Cruise Control, the surround view camera, Pedestrian Emergency Braking, lane keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert and Blind Spot Monitoring is standard rather than optional, which matters on unlit two-lane roads once the season ends and on a bridge approach that stops without warning.
One trim means the routing is about two boxes and a roof.
