Pricing and Availability
How much is a 2026 Jeep Recon?
The Recon Moab starts at an MSRP of $66,995 including destination. That is the only trim offered at launch, so it is also the entry price and the only starting price.
What does a well-equipped Recon cost?
$69,985 including destination, with both option packages: the Trailer Tow Group at an MSRP of $995 and the Comfort Package at $1,995 MSRP, $2,990 together. The Sky One-Touch Power Top is ordered separately. All figures exclude taxes, title and registration.
Is the Recon hard to get right now?
Jeep is building it in limited quantities at launch, so what any dealer can put in front of you depends on allocation. In practice that makes ordering and timing a bigger part of the conversation than it will be in a year. Call the store at (508) 815-5000 and we will tell you exactly what is on the ground and what is inbound.
Is there a longer-range Recon coming?
Jeep has announced a second trim for later availability with more range than the Moab. It has not been named, priced or specified, so there is nothing further to describe about it yet.
Can I lease a 2026 Recon?
Yes, and lease and finance terms change often enough that a current quote is the only useful answer. Start a pre-approval and the finance team will run both against a specific vehicle.

Range, Charging and Electric Motors
How far does a 2026 Jeep Recon go on a charge?
222 miles combined on the EPA cycle, which breaks down as 250 miles of city driving and 196 miles of highway. Jeep's own launch estimate of up to 230 miles is a manufacturer figure; plan against the EPA numbers.
Why is the city range higher than the highway range?
Because regenerative braking puts energy back into the battery, and city driving involves constant braking. It is the reverse of a gasoline vehicle, which does its worst work in stop-and-go traffic. On a peninsula with three months of summer congestion, that reversal is the most useful thing to understand about the vehicle.
How long does the Recon take to charge?
On a 240-volt Level 2 charger, 5 to 80 percent takes approximately 6.8 hours. On public DC fast charging the same window takes roughly 28 minutes, and 10 minutes adds about 100 miles of range. On a 120-volt household outlet it takes approximately 52 hours.
Do I need a home charger for a Recon?
Not strictly, but a 240-volt Level 2 charger is what makes ownership straightforward: plug in overnight and leave with a full battery. A standard household outlet at approximately 52 hours for a 5 to 80 percent charge is a top-up rather than a plan. If you have no off-street parking, sort out where you will charge before you buy.
What charge port does the Recon use?
SAE Combo.
How much horsepower does the 2026 Recon have?
A 250 kW drive module on each axle, combining for 650 horsepower and 620 lb-ft. That is good for 3.6 seconds to 60 mph in Sport mode, 3.8 in Auto, and a 112 mph top speed.
How big is the battery?
100.5 kWh at 400 volts, lithium-ion with nickel manganese cobalt chemistry. The pack is sealed and waterproof, mounted under the floor and protected by a full suite of high-strength steel underbody shields.
What does cold weather do to the range?
Every electric vehicle loses usable range in the cold: chemistry slows in a cold pack, and the heater draws from that pack instead of from an engine's waste heat. Jeep publishes no cold-weather figure and the EPA ratings are the certified numbers. Preconditioning the cabin while still plugged in is the practical habit, and we will walk you through it at delivery.
Can the Recon get to Boston and back?
Comfortably within the EPA highway rating of 196 miles in both directions from the Mid-Cape. A round trip well beyond that is where a planned DC fast-charge stop of roughly 28 minutes enters the picture.
Capability, Towing and Features
How much can a 2026 Jeep Recon tow?
3,300 pounds properly equipped is the ceiling, and reaching it means specifying the Trailer Tow Group at $995 MSRP. Payload tops out at 850 pounds.
Does the Recon have a low range?
No. There is one speed in the transfer case, which leaves no low-range gear and no crawl ratio. Instead of gearing, the vehicle meters its own speed downhill and over obstacles using motor torque, Selec-Terrain's Rock setting and Selec-Speed Control, with the rear electronic locking differential standard.
Is the Recon Trail Rated?
Yes, and it is the only fully electric vehicle that is Trail Rated. There are 9.1 inches under the lowest point, at 33.8 degrees of approach, 33.1 of departure and 23.3 of ramp breakover.
Can I drive a Recon on the beach here?
You need a current permit, and only certain beaches issue one at all. Barnstable issues an ORV sticker for Sandy Neck; Race Point sits under a National Park Service permit. Both require four-wheel drive and tire deflation, and both close seasonally for shorebird nesting. The Recon's standard rear locker, Sand mode and 265/70R18 all-terrain tires are the right hardware for it.
Do the doors come off a Jeep Recon?
Yes, and no other fully electric utility vehicle is built to do it: the doors, the rear-quarter glass and the swing gate glass all come out. Overhead, the dual-pane sunroof is standard equipment and the Sky One-Touch Power Top is the available upgrade.
How much cargo space does it have?
30.3 cubic feet behind the second row, 65.9 cubic feet with that row folded, plus a 3.0-cubic-foot front trunk. Cabin and cargo together come to 141.5 cubic feet.
What screens does the Recon have?
A 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 navigation touchscreen, the largest touchscreen area ever in a Jeep Brand vehicle, plus a 12.3-inch digital cluster display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, as is an 11-speaker Alpine premium audio system.
Is the 2026 Recon safe?
More than 170 safety and security features are standard, among them Blind Spot Monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane keep assist, Pedestrian Emergency Braking and a surround view camera, on every Recon Moab.

Trim and Configuration Differences
How many trims does the Recon have?
One at launch: the Moab. Every Recon has the same drivetrain, the same 650 horsepower, the same screens and the same standard safety content.
Which options should I add?
If a trailer is in the picture now or later, the Trailer Tow Group at $995 MSRP, because it is not a retrofit conversation. If the Recon is your everyday car through a Cape winter, the Comfort Package at $1,995 MSRP. And if the roof is the whole reason you are looking at a Jeep, the Sky One-Touch Power Top.
Is there a two-wheel-drive Recon?
No. Every Recon has full-time active four-wheel drive with a motor on each axle.
Can I get a Recon in a specific colour?
That depends on allocation rather than on the order sheet. Paint runs to ten choices with two arriving later in the year, so the practical move is to name yours early and let us chase the allocation rather than wait and hope.
Should I buy a Recon or a Wrangler?
It comes down to the ground you drive. The Wrangler has a two-speed transfer case, low-range gearing and a 5,000-pound properly-equipped trailer rating on the 4-door. The Recon has 650 horsepower, an EPA-rated 250 miles of city range and no fuel or oil to buy. Both are compared in full on Recon vs Wrangler, and we sell both.
Service, Warranty and Ownership
Does the Recon need oil changes?
No. A battery electric vehicle has no engine oil, so there is no oil change and no lubrication service on the schedule.
What maintenance does a Recon actually need?
Tire rotation every 5,000 to 7,500 miles, and fluids checked and replaced as needed every 25,000 miles. Everything else is inspection. The full schedule is on Recon maintenance.
How long is the battery warranty?
The EV limited battery warranty runs 8 years or 100,000 miles. Alongside it, 3 years or 36,000 miles of basic coverage and 5 years against corrosion.
Will road salt and salt air be a problem?
Salt is a factor for every vehicle on this peninsula, spread on the roads in winter and carried in the air the rest of the year. The Recon's battery pack is sealed and waterproof behind steel underbody shields, and corrosion coverage runs 5 years. Rinsing the underside after a salted road or a beach run is worth more than anything on the schedule.
Is a first-year vehicle a risk?
There is no owner history for the 2026 Recon yet, so nobody can quote a reliability record. What is on record is what the vehicle does not have: no engine, no transmission and no exhaust, and therefore none of the wear items those systems bring, backed by 8 years or 100,000 miles of battery coverage.
Buying a Recon at Premier Cape Cod
Can I test drive a Recon?
Yes. Book a test drive or call (508) 815-5000. Ask for a route that includes both a stop-and-go stretch and an open one, because that is what shows you the difference between the 250-mile city rating and the 196-mile highway rating.
Where are you located?
Premier Cape Cod Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, 556 Yarmouth Rd, Hyannis, MA 02601. The number is (508) 815-5000. Buyers reach us from Falmouth, from Marion, from Plymouth, from Marshfield and from across the bridges.
Can I order a Recon in the configuration I want?
Yes, and right now that usually beats waiting for the combination you want to appear on a lot. Because Jeep is building in limited quantities, ordering is an allocation conversation and the earlier it starts the better. Talk to us about timing.
Can I trade in my current vehicle?
Yes. Value your trade online for a starting figure and we will confirm it against the vehicle in person.
Can I get pre-approved before I come in?
Yes. Get pre-approved online and arrive knowing your terms, which on a limited-allocation vehicle is worth doing before the one you want arrives rather than after.
Can you service a Recon here?
Yes, with factory-trained technicians, genuine Mopar parts and the equipment a high-voltage vehicle requires. Schedule service whenever you need it.
Will you help me sort out home charging?
We will talk you through what a 240-volt Level 2 setup involves and what the charge times mean for how you actually drive, so the decision is made before delivery rather than after. It is the single question most worth settling early.
Does the Recon qualify for an oversand permit?
Two authorities are involved: Barnstable handles Sandy Neck, the National Park Service handles the Seashore, and each sets its own conditions, four-wheel drive and deflated tires among them. The Recon has full-time active four-wheel drive, a standard rear locking differential and all-terrain tires. The application goes to whichever authority issues the sticker; ask us and we will list what the vehicle contributes to it.
What if I decide the Wrangler suits me better?
Then you drive a Wrangler. We stock both and the point of the appointment is to find out which one fits your ground, not to talk you into a particular badge. See the Wrangler.
