Oil changes run on an indicator rather than a fixed mileage, cabin air filters every 12,000 miles, spark plugs at 100,000, and zero open recalls on the 2026 truck. If you tow a trailer or run sand, a different column of the schedule applies to you, and most owners never find that out in time.
Salt reaches the undercarriage from two directions here. Winter road salt goes down from December, and coastal salt air does the rest of the year's work. That moves corrosion inspection from a line item on a schedule to the thing the schedule is organized around, and it is the single biggest difference between owning this truck on Cape Cod and owning it inland.
Our service department is factory-trained and works on these trucks constantly. Below is the actual manufacturer maintenance schedule for the 2026 Gladiator, the severe-duty column that applies to a lot of owners here, what it realistically costs to run, and the recall position as it stands.
The 2026 Gladiator does not run on a fixed oil-change mileage. It carries an automatic oil change indicator system that watches how the truck is actually being driven, and the schedule hangs off that. When the change-oil message appears, service is due within the next 500 miles.

That last one sounds trivial and is not, on an open-air truck in a salt environment. The manufacturer separately recommends lubricating the door hinge joints with white lithium grease twice a year to prevent premature wear, and the external lock cylinders twice a year as well, preferably in autumn and spring.
Two things to know. First, the interval is not a number you can put on a calendar; it is whatever the indicator system says based on how you actually drive. Short trips, trailer towing and extreme temperatures all pull it in, and a Cape driving pattern hits at least two of those most of the year.
Second, and this is not optional: the 3.6-liter V6 was designed for synthetic oil. The manufacturer states that only synthetic API-approved engine oils should be used, and that the oil filter is replaced with a new filter at every oil change. It also warns specifically against chemical flushes and against aftermarket oil additives.
Nothing is prepaid on this truck. Coverage under Jeep Wave stops before model year 2026, so plan on paying for the first service yourself.
Beyond the oil-change cycle, the manufacturer publishes a mileage grid. These are the items and the mileages they come due, under normal duty.

The spark plug interval is worth reading twice: it is mileage based only, and the yearly columns do not apply to it. A low-mileage weekend truck does not need plugs on a calendar.
One item you can ignore entirely on this truck: the automatic transmission. Under normal operating conditions the factory fill lubricates for the life of the vehicle, routine fluid and filter changes are not required, and there is no dipstick. If a shop tells you a 2026 Gladiator is due for a transmission service under normal use, ask them to show you where.
This is the part of the schedule most Gladiator owners on the Cape should be reading, and most never see. The manufacturer publishes a separate severe-duty cadence, and the qualifying conditions include frequent trailer towing and off-road use. If you launch a boat most weekends or run permit-legal oversand, that is you.

Note the change from inspect to change. That is the whole difference, and it is not a small one on a truck whose axles go in salt water on a ramp retrieve. Water intrusion into a differential does not announce itself; it shows up as a failure a long way from the day it started.
Most ownership cost on this truck comes from a short and predictable list.
Open recalls: zero. The federal database shows nothing open against the 2026 Gladiator right now: no recalls, no investigations, a single complaint on file. That position moves, so run your own VIN at nhtsa.gov before buying anything, new or used.
Two honest notes on reliability. First, we do not publish a reliability score for this truck, because the widely-quoted ratings are brand-level figures rather than Gladiator-specific ones, and passing off a Jeep-wide number as a Gladiator number would be misleading. Second, the "death wobble" steering complaint pattern people ask about was reported on 2020 through 2022 Gladiators and is not confirmed on the 2026 truck. It is a fair question to ask; it is not a 2026 issue on the record as it stands.
Warranty coverage runs 36 months or 36,000 miles basic, 60 months or 60,000 miles powertrain, 60 months or 60,000 miles roadside assistance, and five years with unlimited mileage against corrosion. That corrosion term is the one that matters most within sight of salt water.
Fuel is the largest running cost, and it is knowable. Federal testing puts this truck at 17 in town, 22 on the highway and 19 combined, with the yearly fuel bill estimated at $3,300, per fueleconomy.gov. Set against the 22-gallon tank, that is close to 400 miles per fill.
Routine service is a short list. Oil and filter with a tire rotation, on the indicator. Cabin air filter every 12,000 miles. Engine air filter every 30,000. Nothing major until 100,000, when plugs and the PCV valve come due together.
The severe-duty adder is the one to plan for. If you tow or run sand, budget axle fluid changes at 40,000, 80,000 and 120,000 miles and transfer case fluid at 60,000 and 120,000, instead of inspections at those points.
Nothing is included. Jeep Wave does not apply to model year 2026 and later, so the first oil change is yours.
